Selected Essays, 1934-1943: Historical, Political, and Moral Writings (Simone Weil: Selected Works)
chosen and translated by Richard Rees
with series forward by Eric Springsted

‘It is inevitable, anyway, that a day will come when the tendency to centralization which humanity has followed for several centuries will change into the opposite tendency; for everything in nature has its limits beyond which it cannot go.’
She died in August, 1943 at the age of 34. She resisted the rise of totalitarianism by means of her pen.
