Extended Synopsis
Wyoming Sheriff Walt Longmire is running out of time. His daughter, Cady, is scheduled to be married in just two weeks, and the carefully planned venue arrangements have abruptly gone up in smoke signals. Terrified of his daughter's impending frustration, Walt teams up with his lifelong friend Henry Standing Bear to venture onto the neighboring Cheyenne Reservation to find an alternative site for the wedding. However, their domestic scouting expedition takes a horrific turn when they witness a young Crow woman plunging to her death from the majestic cliffs of Painted Warrior.
While the tragic incident occurs outside Walt's standard jurisdiction, he is quickly coerced into the investigation by Lolo Long, the newly appointed and formidable tribal police chief. Navigating complex tribal politics, cultural barriers, and deep-seated regional tensions, Longmire must determine whether the young woman's fall was a tragic suicide or something far more sinister. As the countdown to the wedding clock ticks away, the veteran lawman must find a way to honor his duties as a father while delivering justice on unfamiliar ground.
