Split (2016)
In Split we follow Kevin Wendell Crumb, a man suffering from dissociative identity disorder who has 23 distinct personalities.
The story begins when Kevin kidnaps three teenage girls—Casey, Claire, and Marcia—and holds them captive in an isolated underground facility.
As the girls attempt to escape, they must confront the various personalities within Kevin, each with its own unique traits and motivations.
The tension escalates as they realize that a terrifying new personality, known as "The Beast," is emerging, which poses a significant threat to their lives.
The film explores themes of trauma, identity, and the struggle for survival.
Glass (2019)
Glass serves as a crossover and sequel to both Split and Shyamalan's earlier film Unbreakable (2000). The story brings together the characters from both films: David Dunn, the hero with superhuman abilities from Unbreakable, Kevin Wendell Crumb from Split, and Elijah Price, also known as Mr. Glass, who is a mastermind with fragile bones.
The three characters find themselves in a mental institution, where they are subjected to treatment aimed at convincing them that their extraordinary abilities are merely delusions.
As tensions rise, the film culminates in a dramatic showdown that reveals the true nature of their powers and the concept of heroes and villains.
Both films cover psychological conditions and the complexities of identity.
And both are also a thrilling and thought-provoking experience!
