A Gentleman in Moscow is a spellbinding novel from New York Times-bestselling author Amor Towles, transporting readers to a grand Russian hotel where one man redefines his life under house arrest.

On June 21, 1922, Count Alexander Rostov—an esteemed member of Russian aristocracy—is declared an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal and sentenced to house arrest at the grand Hotel Metropol. A Slow Burn

For two hundred pages, there is little character development and a lot of interior design description. It is well written.
