The Mystery of the Haunted Dancehall
by Charis Cotter
A spooky, atmospheric mystery set at a '60s summer camp, perfect for fans of classic ghost stories, unlikely friendships, and intriguing puzzles.
When her mom takes a job in New York City, Bee finds herself an unwilling camper at a summer retreat. She's not exactly thrilled—she's a loner, she knows nothing about the outdoors, and the surrounding woods give her the creeps. To make matters worse, she keeps hearing eerie, elusive music in the distance.
Things start to look up when she meets Zippy, an oddball with a ton of confidence and a deep knowledge of the camp's secrets. Together, they discover that something very strange is happening: the older girls from the Hawks cabin are sneaking out every night. What's more, they never get caught—not by their counselors, not by staff on nightly rounds, and not even during bed checks.
Determined to get to the bottom of it, Bee and Zippy team up with an unlikely ally. But they soon find that this isn't just about typical summer-camp hijinks. They're faced with a series of questions that defy explanation.
Bee and Zippy are on the case to find out:
- How are the Hawks sneaking out of their cabin without a trace?
- What is the deal with the mysterious and very cute boy working with the groundskeeper?
- Where is that ghostly music coming from?
- What does the reclusive camp founder know about all of it?
The Mystery of the Haunted Dancehall is a thrilling read that combines a classic mystery with a touch of the supernatural, offering a story about friendship, courage, and finding your place in the world.
